Under Article 7 of the Road Traffic Law 2008 which provides regulations on the dissemination, popularization, and education of road traffic laws as follows:

- Information and propaganda agencies shall regularly organize road traffic law propagation and dissemination among the entire population.

- People’s Committees at all levels shall, within the scope of their tasks and powers, organize road traffic law propaganda, dissemination and education in their localities and apply forms of propaganda and dissemination suitable to ethnic minority people.

- Education and training state management agencies shall include the road traffic law in the teaching programs at schools and other educational establishments as suitable to each branch and each level of education.

- Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations shall coordinate with concerned agencies and local administrations in propagating and mobilizing the people to observe the road traffic law.

- Agencies and organizations shall organize road traffic law propagation and dissemination among officials, soldiers, civil servants, public employees and other laborers under their management.

Family members shall propagate, educate and remind other members to observe the road traffic law.

What are the objectives of the Road Traffic Order and Safety Assurance Strategy in the education sector during the 2021-2030 period in Vietnam?

Under sub-section 2, Section 1 of Plan 209/KH-BGDDT 2021, the objectives of the Road Traffic Order and Safety Assurance Strategy in the education sector during the 2021-2030 period in Vietnam are:

- 100% of educational institutions that educate and disseminate knowledge and laws on road traffic order and safety skills for management staff, educators, teachers, employees, and students.

- 100% of the school gate areas located on national highways, provincial roads, and major urban roads must organize traffic to ensure safety and prevent congestion.

- The local education authorities and educational institutions are to coordinate closely with the Traffic Safety Board, relevant agencies, and local authorities in propagating and educating the law on road traffic order and safety for management staff, educators, teachers, employees, and students; organize traffic to ensure safety and prevent congestion in the school gate areas.

From 2025, will the assessment level of the training results of students committing violations against the regulation of the law on road traffic order and safety be lowered?

Under Article 7 of Decree 151/2024/ND-CP concerning the responsibilities of the Ministry of Education and Training in formulating, integrating, embedding, and organizing educational activities on legal knowledge and managing compliance with the law on road traffic order and safety at preschool and general educational institutions:

1. The Ministry of Education and Training is primarily responsible, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant ministries and agencies, based on the provisions of Article 4 of this Decree:

a) Develop a teaching program on legal knowledge concerning road traffic order and safety appropriate for each educational level;

b) Develop materials, integrate, and embed legal knowledge on road traffic order and safety into the formal curriculum at preschools, primary, and secondary educational institutions;

c) Develop a legal knowledge subject on road traffic order and safety under the content stipulated in clause 4, Article 4 of this Decree for high schools and vocational education institutions.

2. The Ministry of Education and Training organizes teaching activities on legal knowledge regarding road traffic order and safety for preschool children, primary, secondary, and high school students; incorporates compliance with the law on road traffic order and safety as one of the criteria for assessing students' training results.

According to the above regulation, compliance with the law on road traffic order and safety is one of the criteria for assessing students' training results.

Thus, the assessment level of the training results of students committing violations against the regulation of the law on road traffic order and safety may be lowered.
