The admission methods for the past two years of 2022 and 2023 are based on Section 1 of the Undergraduate Admission Scheme for 2024 issued together with Decision 342/QD-DHCN in 2024 Download specifically as follows:

- For 2022, Hanoi University of Industry had the following admission methods:

+ Direct admission following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET);

+ Admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam;

+ Admission of candidates who have achieved provincial/city-level excellent student awards or international certificates;

+ Admission based on high school academic performance;

+ Admission based on the results of the Hanoi National University’s capacity assessment exam in 2022;

+ Admission based on the results of the aptitude assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2022.

- For 2023, Hanoi University of Industry had the following admission methods:

+ Direct admission following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET);

+ Admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam;

+ Admission of candidates who have achieved provincial/city-level excellent student awards or international certificates;

+ Admission based on high school academic performance;

+ Admission based on the results of the Hanoi National University’s capacity assessment exam in 2023;

+ Admission based on the results of the aptitude assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2023.

By when must Hanoi University of Industry announce the admission cut-offs?

Based on the University Admission, and Preschool Education College Admission Plan for 2024 issued together with Decision 1139/QD-BGDDT in 2024, the timeline for announcing results and enrollment confirmation is as follows:

- Announcement of the results for the first round of admissions: No later than 17:00 on August 19, 2024.

- Online enrollment confirmation for the first round on the system: No later than 17:00 on August 27, 2024.

Therefore, Hanoi University of Industry must announce the admission cut-offs no later than 17:00 on August 19, 2024.

What are the regulations for university admissions in Vietnam?

According to Article 20 of the University Admission and Preschool Education College Admission Regulations issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the regulations for admissions are as follows:

- Educational institutions are autonomous in organizing admissions according to their own methods and criteria or voluntarily collaborate as a group to organize admissions based on common methods and criteria. The MOET provides guidance on the admission schedule and supports the processing of applications on its system.

- After the registration period on the system, educational institutions download information and data from the system for admissions, including application data and high school graduation exam results, as well as high school academic performance results of candidates applying to the institution according to different admission methods.

- Admission principles:

+ cut-offs are determined to meet the enrollment target for each program, ensuring they are not below the minimum benchmark;

+ For a specific training program and subject combination, all candidates are equally considered based on their scores regardless of the priority order of their applications, except as provided otherwise;

+ In case of ties at the end of the list, the educational institution may use the priority order of applications as a supplementary criterion to select candidates with higher priority orders;

+ The use of regional and category-based priority points for admission must be consistent with the priority points regulations stipulated in Article 7 of the regulations issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT.

- After each admission cycle, the educational institution uploads the list of candidates provisionally eligible for admission to the system based on their programs and admission methods.

The application processing system will automatically remove the lower-ranked choices for candidates eligible for multiple admissions and return the list of candidates provisionally eligible for their highest-ranked choice.

- Based on the application processing results, the educational institution repeats the admission review process in the subsequent cycle, adjusting the cut-offs to meet the enrollment target within the prescribed timeframe.

In the final cycle, the educational institution decides the cut-offs for each program and uploads the official list of candidates eligible for admission.

Based on the final application processing results, the educational institution determines the list of candidates admitted to each program.

- The educational institution announces the cut-offs (and any additional criteria, if applicable) for each program according to different admission methods; and arranges for candidates to check their admission results on the institution’s website (or the website of the collaborative admission group).
