According to Article 34 of the Primary School Charter issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, when attending school, 1st-grade students have the following duties:
First duty: Study and practice according to the educational plan and the school's rules.
Second duty: Have the awareness for self-study and practice to develop comprehensive qualities and capacities according to the objectives of the Primary education program.
Third duty: Fully and effectively carry out learning tasks; know how to self-study under teachers' guidance; actively participate in experiential activities, apply learned knowledge to real life; practice physical fitness, and maintain personal hygiene.
Fourth duty: Be filial to parents and grandparents; show respect and politeness to teachers and elders; show solidarity, love, and help friends, younger siblings, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those in difficult circumstances.
Fifth duty: Comply with school and public area regulations, protect school and public property, ensure traffic order and safety, and maintain hygiene and environmental protection.
Sixth duty: Contribute to activities that build, protect, and promote the traditions of the school and the locality.

Do not cause disorder that affects classroom, school, and public area activities.
Do not cause danger to oneself or others during recreational activities.
What are the achievements of 1st-grade students eligible for commendation in Vietnam?
Article 38 of the Primary School Charter issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulates commendation and discipline as follows:
Commendation and Discipline
1. Commendation and discipline of students are carried out according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
2. Students with outstanding achievements, exemplary students completing learning, training tasks, and competitive movements, having many contributions to the group as voted by classmates or other sudden achievements are commended by teachers, the school, and educational management levels in forms such as commendation before the class or school, awarding certificates or letters of commendation.
3. Students with shortcomings during learning, training, and competitive activities may face disciplinary actions such as reminders, direct support and assistance for better progress; notification to parents for cooperation to help the student overcome shortcomings. Teachers are not allowed to criticize students in front of the class, the school, or joint meetings with parents.
Thus, 1st-grade students are commended in the following cases:
