II. Answers to the Essay Section
Question 1:
a) (716+−18+932):54=1932:54=1932.45=1940
b) 1029+235−629=(1029−629)+235=4+135=335
c) 30%−225+0,2.12=310−125+210.12=15−125=−115
d) −2530.3744+−2530.1344+−2530.−644
=−2530.(3744+1344+−644)=−2530.4444=−2530
- Find x:
a) 2.5x+47=−1.5
So x = -29/35
b) x + 3.25 = 6.15
x = 6.15 – 3.25
x = 2.9.
Therefore, x = 2.9.
Problem 3 (1.5 points):
Method 1:
If the initial amount the contractor receives for building the house is considered 100%, the amount after the reduction is:
100% − 2.5% = 97.5%
The amount the contractor receives for building the house is:
360,000,000 × 97.5 / 100 = 351,000,000 VND
Therefore, the amount the contractor receives for building the house is 351,000,000 VND.
Method 2:
The amount reduced by the homeowner is:
360,000,000 × 2.5 / 100 = 9,000,000 VND
The amount the contractor receives for building the house is:
360,000,000 – 9,000,000 = 351,000,000 VND
Therefore, the amount the contractor receives for building the house is 351,000,000 VND.
Problem 4 (2.5 points):
a) On ray Ox, we have OA < OB (since 2 cm < 4 cm)
Therefore, point A is between two points O and B.
b) Since point A is between two points O and B:
OA + AB = OB
3 + AB = 6
Hence, AB = 6 – 3 = 3 (cm).
And OA = 3 cm.
So OA = AB.
c) Point A is the midpoint of segment OB because:
+ Point A is between two points O and B (proved in part a)
+ OA = AB (proved in part b)
Therefore, point A is the midpoint of segment OB.
d) Since point C is the midpoint of segment AB:
Point C is between points O and B because:
+ Points O, B, C all lie on a straight line (same ray Ox)
+ BC < OB (1.5 cm < 6 cm)
Since point C is between points O and B:
OC + BC = OB
OC + 1.5 = 6
Therefore, OC = 6 – 1.5 = 4.5 (cm).
Therefore, OC = 4.5 cm.
Problem 5 (0.5 points):

Step 1: The council prepares a plan to organize the selection of textbooks for the educational institution, assigning tasks to council members.
Step 2: Organize the selection of textbooks at the professional team
- Based on the council's plan and textbook selection criteria, the head of the professional team develops a plan to organize the selection of textbooks for each subject structured in the professional team, reporting to the head before implementation;
- Organize for all subject teachers at the educational institution (including permanent, contract, seconded, adjunct, and inter-school teachers) to participate in selecting the textbooks for that subject;

- The head of the professional team organizes a meeting with subject teachers to discuss, vote, and select one textbook for the subject. If a subject only has one textbook approved by the Minister of Education and Training, the professional team selects that textbook without voting.
A textbook is selected if it obtains votes from at least half of the subject teachers.
If no textbook obtains votes from at least half of the subject teachers, the professional team must discuss and vote again; the selected textbook is the one that has the most teacher votes in the second round.
In both voting rounds, if there are two or more textbooks with the highest equal number of teacher votes, the head of the professional team decides which textbook to select.
Meetings of the professional team are documented, recording all comments and assessments of the textbooks by participating subject teachers, with the minutes signed by the head of the professional team and the assigned minutes taker;
- The head of the professional team summarizes the results and compiles the list of textbooks selected by the professional team, with signatures by the head of the professional team and the assigned compiler.
Step 3: The council meets to discuss and assess the organization of textbook selection by professional teams; verifies the meeting minutes of the professional team; teacher's assessments on textbooks as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 7, Circular 27/2023/TT-BGDDT; compiles the results of textbook selection by professional teams into minutes (including comments and assessments on the organization of textbook selection by professional teams; the list of textbooks selected by professional teams), with signatures by the Chairman and Secretary of the Council.
Step 4: The council proposes to the head the list of textbooks selected by professional teams according to the regulations of Circular 27/2023/TT-BGDDT.
Step 5: The educational institution compiles a portfolio of selected textbooks and sends it to the Division of Education and Training (for primary and lower secondary education) or the Department of Education and Training (for upper secondary education)
