What is the sample feedback for lower secondary school students at the end of 1st semester of the 2024-2025 school year?
At the end of each semester, teachers at various educational levels are required to provide feedback and assessments in students' academic records regarding their abilities, qualities, achievements, and efforts they have demonstrated.
Under Clause 2, Article 8 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT, at the end of the first semester, the homeroom teacher cooperates with subject teachers, through feedback and expressions during the regular assessment process of the formation and development of key qualities and core competencies of each student, assessing according to the following categories:
- Excellent: Satisfy requirements for traits under formal education program excellently and display merits.
- Good: Satisfy requirements for traits under formal education program well and display merits but not enough to be placed in the Excellent category.
- Qualified: Satisfy requirements for traits under formal education program.
- Unqualified: Fail to satisfy requirements for traits under formal education program.
Additionally, under Clause 1, Article 9 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT, students' learning results by subject are assessed according to the following categories:
+ Qualified: When the student attends all examination and assessment under this Circular and obtain assessment at Qualified category.
+ Unqualified: Remaining cases.

2. Feedback on Literature
Feedback on Literature (1) Qualified - The student has completed all required tests and assessments and met the assessment requirements on all occasions. They have good learning awareness, listening, and knowledge application, effectively performing tasks. Their reading comprehension and writing skills meet basic requirements, with clear content and reasonable structure. - Maintain diligence and positively train to enhance analysis and expression skills in writing assignments. (2) Unqualified - The student has not completed the required tests and assessments or failed to meet standards in some assessments. Their reading comprehension and writing skills are limited, often struggling with articulating ideas and expressions. Written works lack coherence and do not meet basic content requirements. - Focus more on study, particularly in revising and practicing writing skills. Family and teachers need to coordinate support to improve learning results next semester. |
3. Feedback on Mathematics
Feedback on Mathematics (1) Qualified - The student has completed all required tests and assessments and met assessment requirements on all occasions. They have a firm grasp of basic knowledge, execute calculations, and solve mathematical problems according to the requirements. Their thinking and logical reasoning abilities meet the program's criteria. - Maintain learning spirit and tackle additional advanced exercises to enhance mathematical thinking abilities. (2) Unqualified - The student has not completed all required tests and assessments or failed to meet requirements in some assessments. Their grasp of basic knowledge is limited, especially in applying formulas and solving problems. Occasionally, they fail to understand questions thoroughly, leading to errors. - Make more efforts in reviewing and practicing problem-solving. Regularly consult with teachers or peers to consolidate weak knowledge areas. Family should also support in managing study time. |

What is the basis for assessing the training results of lower secondary school students in Vietnam?
According to Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT, the basis for assessing the training results of lower secondary school students in Vietnam is as follows:
- Assess training results of students based on requirements for traits and general capacity by subjects and education level under general programs and requirements for specific capacity under subject program in formal education program.
- Subject teachers shall rely on Point a of this Clause to provide feedback and assess training results, improvement, advantages, and disadvantages of students during training and learning process of the subjects.
- Class advisors shall rely on Point a of this Clause to monitor training and learning process of students; consult feedback and assessment of subject teachers and feedback of students’ parents, relevant, agencies, organizations, and individuals in educating students; instruct students on how to perform self-assessment; provide feedback and assess training results of students based on categories under Clause 2 of this Article.
How many assessment forms are there for subjects of lower secondary school students in Vietnam?
Clause 3, Article 5 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT stipulates the forms of assessment for subjects as follows:
- Conduct assessment for: Physical education (PE), Art, Music, Fine Arts, local education subjects, experience learning activities, and career counseling; learning results of subjects shall be categorized as “Đạt” (Qualified) or “Chưa đạt” (Unqualified).
- Conduct assessment based on both feedback and scores for subjects in formal education program, except for those under Point a of this Clause; subject-based learning results shall be given in a total of 10 scores, any other form of scores must be converted to 10-score model. Assessment score must be an integer or a decimal number rounded to the nearest tenths.
