What are the required language competencies in the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language curriculum?
Under section 2.1, subitem 2, Section 4 of the General education program in Literature issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the required language competencies in the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language curriculum are as follows:
- Read accurately, fluently, and expressively; understand the main contents of texts, primarily explicit content; begin to understand implicit content such as themes, lessons drawn from the texts read.
- Reading requirements include reading technique and reading comprehension skills, focusing on accurate reading at an appropriate speed and understanding the simple content of texts.
- Write correctly in terms of spelling, vocabulary, and grammar; write some short sentences and paragraphs.
- Write narratives of read stories, witnessed events, and imagined stories; describe familiar objects and phenomena; introduce familiar objects and activities in student life.
Write paragraphs expressing students' emotions and thoughts upon reading a story or poem, witnessing an event that evokes emotions, give opinions on simple issues in study and life; write various types of texts such as autobiographies, messages, invitations, schedules, applications, etc.; begin to write following a process; the writing should have three parts (introduction, body, conclusion).
- Present ideas and emotions clearly; initially know how to use appropriate gestures and expressions when speaking; recount stories clearly; know how to share and exchange emotions, attitudes, and thoughts on discussed issues; know how to explain a subject or simple process.
