What language skills do 7th-grade students in Vietnam learn in English?
Under Section V of the General Education Program for English issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, 7th-grade students will learn the following language skills in English:
(1) Listening Skills
- Listen and recognize sounds, stress, intonation, and rhythm in simple sentences.
- Understand short, simple instructions used in learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
- Comprehend the main content and detailed content of short dialogues and monologues of about 120 - 140 words on topics in the Curriculum.
(2) Speaking Skills
- Pronounce different simple sentence sounds, stress, intonation, and rhythm.
- Speak short instructions used in classroom and extracurricular activities.
- Exchange basic information on familiar topics.
- Present prepared and prompted projects on Curriculum topics.
(3) Reading Skills
- Understand the main content and detailed content of simple dialogues and monologues of about 120 - 150 words on Curriculum topics.
- Understand the main content of short, simple messages, menus, and advertisements related to familiar topics (may include some new words or structures).
(4) Writing Skills
- Write short, simple paragraphs of about 60 - 80 words to describe personal events and activities related to the Curriculum topics.
- Write letters, postcards, messages, or short personal notes related to daily communication needs within the context of Curriculum topics.
What are the basic infrastructure requirements to follow the general education program for 7th-grade English?
According to Section VIII of the General Education Program for English (for grades 3 to 12) issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the basic infrastructure requirements to follow the general education program for 7th-grade English are as follows:
- Minimum requirements for textbooks, infrastructure, and equipment stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training must be complied with.
- Schools with full finance should have Internet connections, equipped with computers, screens, projectors, and English teaching software; the use of information technology equipment to support English teaching is encouraged.
- The number of students per class should not exceed the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
