2. Scholarship:
- Students at secondary boarding ethnic schools under the Ministry of Education and Training, provinces, districts, and ethnic pre-university schools are entitled to a policy scholarship equal to 80% of the State's minimum salary and are granted for 12 months in the year. For training programs with a duration of less than one year or the final year's study period is less than 12 months, the scholarship is granted based on the actual number of learning months according to the provisions of section II, Joint Circular No. 23/2008/TTLT/BGDĐT-BLĐTBXH-BTC dated April 28, 2008, of the joint Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, Ministry of Finance guiding the implementation of Decision No. 152/2007/QD-TTg dated September 14, 2007, of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on policy scholarships for students at educational institutions of the national education system.
- Where students are disciplined and expelled, they are not entitled to policy scholarships.
- Where students are suspended, they are not entitled to scholarships during the suspension period, except for cases of suspension due to illness, accident, repeating classes, or stopping studies for other reasons (not due to discipline or voluntary dropout).
- Where students fail to advance to the next class (grade retention), the retained school year is only entitled to 1/2 of the scholarship, and by the third year, if they still do not meet academic requirements, they are returned to their locality. Each student is only allowed to repeat once per education level.
- Students at secondary boarding ethnic schools and ethnic pre-university schools who are entitled to both policy scholarships and social allowances and preferential allowances according to Article 31, Decree No. 54/2006/ND-CP dated May 26, 2006, of the Government of Vietnam regarding "Guidance on implementing some provisions of the ordinance on preferential treatment for revolutionary activists," are still entitled to social allowance and preferential allowance policies as stipulated in Decree No. 54/2006/ND-CP dated May 26, 2006, of the Government of Vietnam and guiding documents.

Thus, students at secondary boarding ethnic schools under the Ministry of Education and Training, provinces, districts, and ethnic pre-university schools are entitled to a policy scholarship equal to 80% of the State's minimum salary and are granted for 12 months in the year. What is the period of awarding policy scholarships in Vietnam?
According to the provisions of Clause 8, Article 9 Decree 84/2020/ND-CP, the period of awarding policy scholarships is regulated as follows:
