10. All educational institutions must require all candidates to confirm their enrollment online through the system, before enrolling at the institution;

- For candidates who are admitted through the direct recruitment method (Article 8 of the Enrollment Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training), the educational institution shall guide candidates to confirm their enrollment online on the system within the specified period;

- Update the list of admitted and enrolled candidates, enrollment methods, training forms according to the correct data structure, conformable in the lists related to enrollment (high schools, disadvantaged communes, exceptionally difficult communes...) and within the specified period;

- Educational institutions are not allowed to require candidates to confirm or enroll before August 19, 2024, and must not end the confirmation of enrollment or end enrollment before 17:00 on August 27, 2024 (including programs linked with foreign institutions).

How to handle the case in which a successful candidate is in an accident and unable to confirm university enrollment in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 3, Article 21 of the Enrollment Regulations issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT:

Notification of results and confirmation of enrollment

1. The educational institution sends the admission notice to the admitted candidates, clearly stating the necessary procedures for candidates when enrolling and the method of enrollment for candidates.

2. Candidates confirm their enrollment online through the system before enrolling at the educational institution.

3. For candidates who do not confirm their enrollment within the specified period:

a) If there is no valid reason, it is considered that the candidate has declined the admission, and the educational institution has the right not to accept them;

b) If due to illness, accident, with a certification from a district-level hospital or higher, or due to natural disasters with a certification from the district-level People's Committee or higher, the educational institution shall consider whether to accept the candidate or reserve the admission results for the candidate to enroll later;

c) If due to errors or confusion caused by the enrollment staff or the candidate, the educational institution shall actively cooperate with the related individuals and organizations to review the evidence and decide on whether to accept the candidate or reserve the admission results for the candidate to enroll later.

4. Candidates who have confirmed enrollment at one educational institution are not allowed to participate in the enrollment process at another institution or in additional enrollment rounds, unless permitted by the original institution.

The regulations state that if an admitted candidate, within the enrollment confirmation period, has an illness or accident with certification from a district-level hospital or higher, or due to natural disasters with certification from the district-level People's Committee or higher, the educational institution shall consider whether to accept the candidate or reserve the admission results for the candidate to enroll later.

Thus, in case an admitted candidate has an accident and cannot confirm their university enrollment for 2024-2025, the school will review the case if the candidate has sufficient evidence, or the candidate may reserve the admission results for the next academic year.

What is the latest deadline and time for university enrollment confirmation in Vietnam?

The deadline for admitted candidates to complete enrollment confirmation is regulated in sub-section 8, Section I of Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH in 2024 as follows:

8. Enrollment confirmation:

- For admitted candidates in the direct recruitment category, from July 22, 2024, to 17:00 on July 31, 2024, candidates can confirm their enrollment on the system (candidates who have already confirmed enrollment will not be allowed to continue registering for options, unless permitted by the head of the educational institution not to enroll). If they have not yet confirmed enrollment, candidates can continue registering for options on the system or the national public service portal like other candidates for evaluation by educational institutions. If admitted, candidates will confirm their enrollment according to the general schedule;

- The latest is 17:00 on August 27, 2024, for all admitted candidates to complete online enrollment confirmation for the first round on the system.
