Based on Article 10 of the University Admission Regulations, College Admission in Early Childhood Education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the provisions are as follows:

Deferral of Admission

  1. Candidates who have received an admission letter may defer their admission in the following cases:

a) Performing military service or youth volunteer service immediately in the year of admission based on a decision or order from the competent authority;

b) Suffering from a severe illness or serious accident that prevents them from enrolling on time, with medical records and certification from a competent medical authority.

  1. Candidates falling into the categories mentioned in clause 1 must submit a deferral request along with supporting documents to the educational institution to which they were admitted. The maximum deferral period is determined by the educational institution, but it is not less than 3 years for those specified in point a, clause 1 of this Article.
  1. As soon as the conditions for returning to study are met, the candidate who has been granted deferral must complete the enrollment procedures as regulated by the educational institution, including providing evidence of having fulfilled the service or having recovered after treatment. For cases described in clause 1 of this Article with a deferral period of 3 years or more, the educational institution should consider introducing the candidates to preparatory schools or classes to review before official enrollment.

Hence, candidates who have received admission letters to university are only allowed to defer their admission in the following cases:

- Performing military service or youth volunteer service immediately in the year of admission based on a decision or order from the competent authority;

- Suffering from a severe illness or serious accident that prevents them from enrolling on time, with medical records and certification from a competent medical authority.

If a university-admitted candidate is pregnant and does not fall under the aforementioned deferral criteria, they will not be granted a deferral of admission.

Direct Admission Registration and Selection

  1. Based on the published admission proposal, the educational institution organizes the registration for candidates eligible for direct admission as stipulated in Article 8 of these Regulations, either online or directly at the educational institution.
  1. The educational institution organizes the direct admission selection for eligible candidates and announces the results as per the overall plan.
  1. Candidates admitted via direct admission can either confirm their enrollment early (if eligible) or follow the overall schedule like other candidates; educational institutions must not require candidates to confirm their enrollment earlier than the overall schedule.

4. Candidates admitted via direct admission who have not confirmed their enrollment are still allowed to use their registration rights on the common system to have additional opportunities for admission like other candidates.

Therefore, university candidates admitted via direct admission who have not confirmed their enrollment may still apply for other admission options to have additional opportunities for admission like other candidates.
