Admission Methods of the Vietnam Vietnam Aviation Academy for the Last 2 Years

According to the 2024 Undergraduate Admission Scheme Download issued by the Vietnam Aviation Academy on March 1, 2024, the academy has used the following admission methods for the years 2023 and 2022:

- Year 2022: The academy considered the National High School Exam scores for all majors; prioritized admission, evaluated the National University Competency Assessment scores, and considered the National High School (High School Transcript) results for 09 majors: Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Transport Economics, English Language, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Control and Automation Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology.

- Year 2023: The academy considered National High School Exam scores, prioritized admission, evaluated the National University Competency Assessment scores, and considered the National High School (High School Transcript) results for all regular university majors.

What are methods of sending admission letters to admitted university candidates in Vietnam?

Based on Article 21 of the Regulations issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the notification of results and enrollment confirmation are as follows:

1. Training institutions send admission letters to admitted candidates, indicating the necessary procedures for enrollment and the enrollment methods.

2. Candidates confirm their enrollment online on the system before enrolling at the training institution.

3. For candidates who do not confirm enrollment within the prescribed time:

a) If there is no legitimate reason, it will be considered as the candidate declining the enrollment, and the institution has the right not to accept them;

b) If due to illness, accidents, with certification from a district-level hospital or higher, or due to natural disasters with certification from a district-level People’s Committee or higher, the training institution will consider admitting the candidate or deferring the admission results for the candidate to enroll later;

c) If due to errors or mistakes by the admissions staff or the candidates themselves, the training institution should cooperate with the related individuals or organizations to verify the evidence and decide on admitting the candidate or deferring the admission results for the candidate to enroll later.

4. Candidates who have confirmed enrollment at one institution are not allowed to participate in additional admissions elsewhere or in other supplementary admissions, unless permitted by the institution.

Thus, university admission letters will be sent to admitted candidates by the universities.

Typically, the admission letters will be sent via postal mail as hard copies or received as soft copies via email to the candidates.

What principles must university admissions in Vietnam follow under the general plan?

Based on Article 20 of the Regulations on university admissions and higher education admissions in Early Childhood Education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT on admission consideration and processing preferences under the general plan:

- Training institutions independently organize admissions according to their methods and criteria or voluntarily coordinate in groups to organize admissions according to common methods and criteria. The Ministry of Education and Training (GDĐT) guides the admission schedule and supports the processing of preferences on the system.

- After the registration period ends on the system, training institutions download the information and data from the system to serve the admissions process, including registration data and High School Graduation Exam results, high school academic results of the candidates applying to the institution through various admissions methods.

- Admission principles:

+ Admission scores are determined to ensure the number admitted to each major and training program matches the announced quota, but not lower than the entry benchmark;

+ For a training major (or program) based on a method and subject combination, all candidates are equally considered based on their scores regardless of the priority order of the registered preferences, except as otherwise stipulated;

+ When there are many candidates with the same score at the bottom of the list, the institution can use the additional criterion of preference order (to select candidates with a higher preference order);

+ The use of regional and object priority scores for admissions must be consistent and comply with the priority score regulations stipulated in Article 7 of the university admissions regulations and higher education admissions in Early Childhood Education Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT.

- After each admission cycle, the training institution uploads the list of candidates provisionally eligible for admission to the majors, training programs (based on the admissions methods) to the system.

The preference processing system will automatically eliminate lower preferences of candidates provisionally eligible for multiple preferences and returns the list of candidates provisionally admitted based on the highest preference.

- Based on the preference processing results, the training institution repeats the admissions process in the next cycle, adjusts the admission scores to match the quota within the specified time frame.

In the final cycle, the training institution decides on the admission scores for the majors and training programs (based on various admissions methods) and uploads the (official) list of candidates eligible for admission to the system.
