What are the enrollment methods of Hanoi National University of Education in 2025?

On January 22, 2025, Hanoi National University of Education announced its enrollment plan in 2025. Specifically, the enrollment methods in 2025 of the university are as follows:

(1) Candidates and general admission conditions for all enrollment methods

- Candidates and eligibility conditions for all training programs:

+ Candidates must have graduated from Vietnamese high schools or possess a foreign high school diploma recognized as equivalent as of the time of matriculation.

+ Training results for all 06 semesters of upper secondary education must be assessed as Excellent.

- Special admission conditions (entrance threshold) for pedagogical programs:

+ Academic results for all 3 years of upper secondary education must be assessed as Excellent or the high school graduation assessment score must be 8.0 or higher, excluding the following specific programs.

- Academic results for all 3 years of upper secondary education must be assessed as Good or the high school graduation assessment score must be 6.5 or higher for Physical Education, Music Education, and Art Education programs.

(2) Enrollment methods and specific admission conditions

Enrollment method Scope of Application Specific Admission Conditions
Method 1: Admission by high school graduation exam scores in 2025 All disciplines and training programs. - Assess the score of a combination of 3 subjects in the high school graduation exam.

- For talent-required disciplines (ECE, PE, Music Ed., Art Ed.), evaluate the score of a combination of 3 subjects including high school graduation exam subjects and talent test.

- Candidates can register multiple admission preferences according to Method 1.
Method 2: Direct admission and priority for candidates with exceptional capabilities, achievements All disciplines and training programs. - Direct admission according to the Ministry's regulations

- Priority admission according to the University’s regulation

- Candidates can register only one admission preference according to Method 2.
Method 3: Admission by the  Competency Assessment Exam scores in 2025 45/50 disciplines and training programs.

Excluding talent-required disciplines: ECE, PE, Music Ed., Art Ed.
- Assess the score of a combination of 3 SPT subjects.

- Candidates can register up to 02 admission preferences according to Method 3.

Thus, in 2025, Hanoi National University of Education have 03 enrollment methods instead of 5 as last year.

What are the basic principles of enrollment for full-time undergraduate programs in Vietnam?

According to Article 4 of the Regulations on enrollment for full-time undergraduate and college programs in Early Childhood Education issued along with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the basic principles of enrollment for full-time undergraduate programs in Vietnam are as follows:

(1) Fairness to candidates

- Information provision: Each interested candidate is provided with full, clear, reliable, consistent, and prompt information to aid appropriate decision-making and best preparation for participating in admissions;

- Admission opportunity: No candidate should lose the opportunity for admission due to policies unrelated to qualification or capability (except special regulations by the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense for defense and security fields); or due to cumbersome, costly procedures;

- Capability assessment: Candidates must be objectively, fairly, and reliably assessed for learning ability and potential success, meeting program and educational discipline requirements;

- Matriculation chance: Candidates must be offered the highest chance of matriculation and the right to determine their preferred priorities among programs and disciplines for which they qualify;

- Commitment fulfillment: Educational institutions must fulfill commitments to candidates, providing consultation, and support, resolving grievances, and protecting candidate rights in adverse situations.

(2) Equality among educational institutions

- Collaboration: Educational institutions cooperate equitably to enhance the quality and efficiency of admissions, benefiting candidates optimally;

- Competition: Institutions engage in honest, fair, and healthy competition in accordance with legal provisions on competition.

(3) Transparency to society

- Information transparency: Institutions are responsible for publicly disclosing comprehensive, clear, and prompt admission information through appropriate media for social and governmental supervision;

- Accountability: Institutions must report per government requirements and publicly justify to society in suitable forms regarding significant issues causing public concern.

What are the general objectives of higher education in Vietnam?

According to Article 5 of the Higher Education Law 2012 (amended by Article 77 of the Vocational Education Law 2014), the general objectives of higher education in Vietnam include:

- Training human resources, enhancing people’s intelligence; doing science and technology researches in order to create knowledge and new products serving the socio-economic development, assure National defense and security and international integration;

- Training students that possess political quality, ethics; possess knowledge and professional practical skills, possess capability of researching and applying science and technology corresponding to their grade; possess creativity, professional responsibility and adaptability to the working conditions; aware of serving the people
