What are the duties of primary school students in Vietnam towards family members?

According to Article 34 of the Primary School Regulations issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the duties of primary school students in Vietnam are stipulated as follows:

Duties of Students

1. Study and train according to the educational plan, school regulations; have self-discipline in learning and training to develop qualities and competencies according to the objectives of the primary education curriculum.

2. Fulfill and effectively perform study tasks; know how to self-study under the guidance of teachers; actively participate in experiential activities, apply learned knowledge to practical life; engage in physical training and personal hygiene.

3. Be filial to parents and grandparents; show respect and politeness to teachers and elders; unite, love, and help friends, younger siblings, the elderly, the disabled, and those in difficult circumstances.

4. Comply with the rules, protect school and public property; abide by traffic safety regulations; maintain hygiene and protect the environment.

5. Contribute to activities that build, protect, and promote the traditions of the school and local community.

Thus, primary school students, in particular, and students in general, must be filial to parents and grandparents. Additionally, they must show respect and politeness to teachers and elders; unite, love, and help friends, younger siblings, the elderly, the disabled, and those in difficult circumstances.

When are 5th-grade students in Vietnam eligible to receive certificates of achievement?

Under Clause 1, Article 13 of the Regulations on assessing primary school students issued with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT, 5th-grade students are commended in the following cases:

1) End-of-year commendation:

- Award Excellent student title for student achieving Excellent completion;

- Award Student with good completion in study and training title for students achieving Good completion and earning excellent achievement in at least 1 subject or show clear development in at least 1 trait or capacity and receive recognition by the whole class.

2) Irregular commendation: students earning sudden achievements in school years.
