The old woman confided in him that since morning she hadn't sold a single fan, it was too slow, and by the afternoon, the whole family might have to go hungry. After speaking, she was too tired and fell asleep. While the old woman slept, Wang Hi Chi took out his ink brush and wrote poetry on all her fans. When she woke up, she found her white fans covered in Wang's ink marks. She angrily demanded compensation from him. Wang said nothing, only smiled, and quietly left. Unexpectedly, her fans sold very well shortly thereafter, and someone even offered to buy them for thousands of gold coins. The old woman regretted that she didn’t have more to sell. On her way back, she thought to herself, perhaps the heavens sent a celestial being to help her sell the fans so quickly. |
