In the past school year, I also achieved the Excellent Student title. I got a score of 10 in both Math and Vietnamese. For English, I only got 9 points. Additionally, I was awarded the title of “Junior Plan Leader” in the last school year. I feel very pleased with both your and my achievements.

Dear Anh Son,

Yesterday, I just received your letter. I felt very happy. Reading your letter, I am glad that you have settled into your new school. Particularly, I am very impressed with your academic achievements in the last school year. I sincerely congratulate you!

As for me, I also achieved quite good academic results in the last school year. My exam results for Math and Vietnamese were high. I have registered to join the school's football club. Next week, I will participate in a friendly match with Hoa Mi School. Occasionally, I tell my classmates about you. They all miss you very much!

This summer, remember to visit me and our friends. I hope to receive your letter soon!
Sample 3

Dear Duc Anh,

At the beginning of this letter, I want to send my regards to your health. These days, I am still in good health. You and I have been apart for a month now. That makes me miss you very much. Today, I am writing this letter to ask about you. And as promised, I will tell you about my trip to visit my hometown.

A few days ago, I went to visit my hometown with my parents. My hometown is a rural area on the outskirts of Hanoi. It is very peaceful here. Every morning, the air is fresh. The sky is blue and vast. On the village road, farmers are going to the fields to work. In the distance, the green and vast rice fields stretch out. Flocks of white storks fly around gracefully. On the village's dyke, herds of buffaloes leisurely graze. The gentle river nourishes the fields with silt. The rural people are very sincere. Everyone lives with kindness and tolerance. I love my hometown very much, Khanh Hoa.

When you have the chance, come to visit my hometown. I will take you to see all the places. You will surely have many interesting experiences.
Sample 4

Dear Kim Dung,

How have you been lately? Over the past few months, have you encountered any interesting things at your new school? Tell me about them!

Remember the last time we met, it was the week before the new school year started. Dung and I had promised to compete in our studies. Remembering our promise, I have been trying my best over the past period. I concentrate on listening to lectures and actively participate in class discussions and try to engage in more group activities. This has helped me study better, and the teachers have praised me in front of the class. How about you, Dung?

How many lessons do writing skills in the 3rd-grade Vietnamese language curriculum constitute?

Under the General education program in Literature issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the regulations are as follows:

- Duration by each grade (according to the number of lessons)

Grade 1 Grade 2 3rd-grade Grade 4 Grade 5 Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 9 Grade 10 Grade 11 Grade 12
420 350 245 245 245 140 140 140 140 105 105 105

- At the upper secondary level, each grade has an additional 35 lessons for elective study topics.

- Time allocated for educational content

The time allocated for educational content is arranged by textbook authors and teachers based on the projected outcomes for each grade and the reality of teaching.

However, it is necessary to ensure a reasonable proportion among the following components:

- Between knowledge acquisition and skills training (with a focus on practical skills and application).

- Among types of text reading, writing, speaking, and listening (more time allocated for reading literary texts).

- Among reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills (more time allocated for reading skills); specifically, the proportion of time allocated for skills in each grade is as follows:

Group of Grades Reading Writing Speaking and Listening Periodic Assessment
From Grade 1 to Grade 3 about 60% about 25% about 10% about 5%
From Grade 4 to Grade 5 about 63% about 22% about 10% about 5%
From Grade 6 to Grade 9 about 63% about 22% about 10% about 5%
From Grade 10 to Grade 12 about 60% about 25% about 10% about 5%

Thus, writing skills in the 3rd-grade Vietnamese language curriculum constitute about 25% of the total 245 lessons. Therefore, 3rd-grade students will study approximately 61 lessons of writing content.
