What are the eligibility requirements for providing internal extra classes for 11th-grade Mathematics in Vietnam?

Under Article 5 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT, the eligibility requirements for providing internal extra classes for 11th-grade Mathematics in Vietnam are as follows:

1. Internal extra classes shall not charge students and are only for students registering for extra classes in specific subjects as follows:

- Students having Unqualified academic results in a subject at the end of the immediate past semester;

- Students selected by the school for gifted student training;

- Voluntary final-year students registering for entrance exam preparation or graduation exam preparation according to the school's educational plan.

2. Schools shall organize for students to submit registration forms for extra classes.

3. Based on the number of registered students, schools shall develop plans for organizing extra classes in specific subjects for each grade.

4. The arrangement of classes, schedules, and the organization of extra classes shall ensure the following requirements:

- Extra classes should be organized by subject for each grade; each class shall have no more than 45 (forty-five) students;

- Extra class schedules shall not interpose regular schedules and shall not precede the contents scheduled in the school’s educational plan;

- Each subject is permitted a maximum of 02 (two) extra lessons per week.

5. Plans for organizing extra classes shall be publicly available on the school’s website or posted at the school.

What is the plan for implementing the roadmap to improve the standardized educational qualifications of 11th-grade Mathematics teachers in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 8 Decree 71/2020/ND-CP regulating the plan for implementing the roadmap to improve the standardized educational qualifications of 11th-grade Mathematics teachers in Vietnam:

(1) Based on the orientations and objectives for building and developing the national and local teaching staff, the demand for teachers, and the target criteria outlined in Articles 4, 5, and 6 of Decree 71/2020/ND-CP, the plan preparation is implemented as follows:

- The provincial People's Committee issues an annual plan to implement the roadmap to improve the standardized educational qualifications of preschool, primary, and secondary school teachers;

- The Ministry of Education and Training issues a 5-year plan for the periods 2020 - 2025 and 2026 - 2030.

(2) Plan preparation:

- The Ministry of Education and Training issues a 5-year plan for the periods 2020 - 2025 and 2026 - 2030, which is sent to provincial People's Committees as a basis for annual plan preparation;

- Annually, preschool educational institutions and general educational institutions construct plans, send them to the Department of Education and Training for compilation, advising district-level People's Committees to issue plans and send them to the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Education - Science and Technology of Bac Lieu (collectively referred to as the Department of Education and Training);

Provincial People's Committees issue annual plans advised and proposed by the Department of Education and Training based on the Ministry of Education and Training's plans and annual plans of district-level People's Committees;

- Provincial People's Committees send the plan to the Ministry of Education and Training for synthesis, monitoring, and directive implementation.

(3) The main content of the annual and 5-year plans includes:

- Objectives, principles, methods of selecting teachers to participate in training;

- Defining the roadmap; the number of preschool, primary, and secondary school teachers to undergo training to enhance their standards each year and the entire roadmap;

- Responsibilities of agencies, units, organizations, and individuals in implementing the plan.

(4) The 5-year roadmap implementation plan for the 2020 - 2025 period of the Ministry of Education and Training must be issued within 30 days from the effective date of Decree 71/2020/ND-CP. The 2020 implementation plan of the provincial People's Committees must be issued within 60 days from the effective date of this Decree; plans for subsequent years must be issued before December 15 of the preceding year.
