What are the objectives of the General Education Program in Literature at the upper secondary level in Vietnam?

According to the General Education Program in Literature at the upper secondary level attached to Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, specific objectives of the General Education Program in Literature at the upper secondary level in Vietnam are defined as follows:

- Help students continue developing the qualities formed in lower secondary; broaden and enhance the requirements for quality development with specific manifestations: having courage, individuality, ideals, and aspirations, knowing how to preserve and promote Vietnamese cultural values; having a spirit of integration and global citizenship awareness.

- Continue to develop skills formed in lower secondary with higher requirements: being able to understand both explicit and implicit content of various types of texts with more complex levels reflected through volume, content, and reading requirements; developing critical thinking reading skills; applying knowledge about the characteristics of literary language, literary trends - movements, author styles, works, and both internal and external text elements to form independent reading skills. Write proficiently argumentative and expository texts that combine expressive modes and argumentative processes, ensuring process correctness, personal viewpoint, logical coherence, and persuasiveness. Speak and listen flexibly; having the ability to listen to and evaluate the content and form of expression of presentations; knowing how to participate with personal viewpoints, individuality, and suitable debate attitude in discussions.

Under Clause 1, Article 28 of the Education Law 2019 which specifies the educational levels and ages of general education as follows:

1. Educational levels and age groups of general education are regulated as follows:
