Students can refer to the following sample paragraphs from 3 to 5 sentences on retelling the activities of an animal they observed:

Kitten Playing with a Ball of Yarn

This morning, I saw a kitten playing with a ball of yarn. It pushed the ball with its paw, making it roll, and then jumped to catch it. After playing for a while and getting tired, it lay down on the floor, half-closing its eyes. Suddenly, a mouse ran by, and the kitten immediately jumped up to chase it. But the mouse was too fast and hid in the corner of the room.

Ants Bringing Food Back to the Nest

This afternoon, I went to the garden and saw a group of ants carrying food back to their nest. They formed a long line, each carrying a small piece of food. When encountering obstacles, the ants quickly found another way to continue moving. Near the nest, they worked together to pull the food inside. Watching them work diligently, I learned a lesson about the spirit of solidarity.

Dog Chasing a Ball

Yesterday, I observed my dog chasing a ball. Every time I threw the ball, it would run quickly to fetch it. Its ears perked up, and its tail wagged adorably. After playing for a while, it lay down panting. But as soon as I picked up the ball, it enthusiastically stood up, ready to play again.

Goldfish Swimming in the Tank

In my home aquarium, the goldfish swim freely all day. When I sprinkle food, it quickly snaps it up, creating ripples on the water's surface. After eating, it swims slowly around the tank as if to relax. Sometimes, it surfaces and then quickly dives down. Watching it swim, I feel very excited.

Sparrow on a Tree Branch

Early in the morning, I saw a sparrow perched on a tree branch in front of my house. It tilted its head, carefully preening its feathers as if grooming itself. Then, it began singing cheerfully, making the garden lively. Shortly after, it spread its wings and soared high into the sky. Its song continued to resonate in the air.

Butterfly Flitting in the Flower Garden

Today, I saw a butterfly flitting in the flower garden. It had shimmering yellow wings, gently flapping as if in a dance. Upon finding a beautiful flower, it perched down, using its proboscis to sip nectar. After a while, it fluttered off to another flower. Watching the tiny butterfly made me marvel at the beauty of nature.

Turtle Slowly Crawling in the Yard

This afternoon, I watched a turtle slowly crawling in the yard. Each step it took was very slow, yet it persevered forward. Encountering a rock in its path, it did not give up but found a way to crawl around it. Upon reaching a shaded spot, it stopped to rest for a while. Watching the slow but steady turtle, I recalled a lesson in patience.

Mother Hen Leading Chicks to Forage

This morning, I saw a mother hen leading its chicks to forage in the garden. The mother hen continuously clucked, calling its chicks each time it found food. The tiny chicks scampered along, pecking at the food joyfully. Sensing a hawk flying overhead, the mother hen hurriedly spread its wings to protect its brood. After a while, the flock continued pecking at seeds and hunting worms in the soft soil.

Duck Swimming in the Pond

This afternoon, I sat by the pond and watched a duck swimming. It glided gently, paddling under the water to create ripples on the pond's surface. Occasionally, it submerged its head to seek food, causing water to glisten in splashes. After swimming for a while, the duck waddled ashore, stretching its neck to preen its feathers thoroughly. As dusk approached, it waddled back to its pen with its flock.

Diligent Bee Collecting Nectar

Early this morning, I saw a bee collecting nectar in the garden. It landed on a bright yellow flower, using its proboscis to probe deep into the stigma to gather nectar. Its small wings constantly vibrated as if tirelessly working. When it had collected enough nectar, it swiftly flew to another flower. Watching the industrious bee, I admired this creature's diligence.

Rabbit Nibbling on a Carrot

Yesterday, I saw a white rabbit nibbling on a carrot in its cage. It used its front legs to hold the carrot firmly, its round eyes full of delight. Each time it took a bite, its long ears twitched slightly. When nearly finished eating, it sniffed with its nose and then bounced around the cage. Afterward, it lay down to rest with a full belly.
