What are priority points by region in university admissions in Vietnam?
Based on the provisions of Clause 1 and Clause 2 Article 7 of the Regulations issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the regional priority score in university admission for 2024 is as follows:

Notes:
- The admission region of each candidate is determined by the location of the school where the candidate has studied the longest during the high school (or secondary) period; if the longest period of study is at the same regions, it will be determined by the region of the last attended school.
- The following cases will receive regional priority based on the place of permanent residence:
+ Students of ethnic boarding schools who are entitled to priority and preferential policies of the State as prescribed;
+ Students with a permanent residence (during high school or secondary school) for more than 18 months in communes in region III and communes with extremely difficult villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas following the regulations of the Minister, Head of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities, and Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam; particularly difficult communes in coastal sandy areas and islands; especially difficult communes, border communes, safety zone communes under the investment program of Program 135 (following Decision 135/QD-TTg of 1998 of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam); particularly difficult villages and communes in localities as prescribed by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam if studying high school (or secondary school) at a location within districts, district-level towns, provincial cities having at least one particularly difficult commune.
+ Soldiers; officers, non-commissioned officers, police officers dispatched for mandatory service, if stationed for 18 months or more in any area, will receive regional priority according to that area or according to the place of permanent residence before enrollment, whichever area has a higher priority; if stationed for 18 months or more in areas with different priority levels, they will receive priority in the area with the longer stationing period; if less than 18 months, they will receive regional priority according to the place of permanent residence before enrollment;
- From 2023, candidates will be entitled to regional priority policy under the regulations in the year of high school graduation (or secondary school) and the following year.
When is the Deadline for University Admission Confirmation for Successful Candidates in Vietnam?
Based on Section 8 Part I of Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH in 2024:

8. Admission Confirmation:
- For candidates admitted under the direct admission category, from July 22, 2024, to 17:00 on July 31, 2024, candidates can confirm enrollment on the System (candidates who have confirmed enrollment will not be allowed to continue registering for admission unless permitted by the head of the training institution to not enroll). In case of not confirming enrollment, candidates can continue registering on the System or the National Public Service Portal like other candidates for the training institutions to consider admission; if admitted, they will confirm enrollment according to the general schedule;
- No later than 17:00 on August 27, 2024, all admitted candidates must complete online enrollment confirmation for the first round on the System.

- Those who have confirmed enrollment will not be allowed to continue registering for admission unless permitted by the head of the training institution to not enroll.
