What principles must universities in Vietnam follow when selecting candidates?

Based on Clause 3, Article 20 of the Regulation on university admission and college admission in the field of Preschool Education, issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the principles for university selection are stipulated as follows:

(1) Admission scores are determined to ensure the number of admissions in each field and training program is in line with the published quotas, but not lower than the entry threshold;

(2) For a certain field or training program using a specific method and subject combination, all candidates are considered equally based on their selection scores without prioritizing the order of application option, except as prescribed in point c of this clause;

(3) If there are many candidates with the same score at the end of the list, the training institution can use the order of option as a tie-breaker for candidates with higher application preference order;

(4) The use of regional and targeted priority points must be consistent and in line with the priority point regulations stated in Article 7 of the Regulation issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT.

What is the deadline for university enrollment confirmation for admitted candidates in Vietnam?

According to Section 8, Part I of Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH 2024:

I. For candidates

8. Enrollment Confirmation:

- For admitted candidates under direct admission criteria, from July 22, 2024, to 5:00 PM on July 31, 2024, candidates can confirm enrollment on the System (those who have confirmed enrollment will not be allowed to register for additional admission option unless permitted by the head of the educational institution not to enroll). In case of undecided enrollment, candidates can continue registering for admission option on the System or the national public service portal like other candidates for the educational institution to consider; if admitted, candidates will confirm enrollment according to the common schedule;

- No later than 5:00 PM on August 27, 2024, all admitted candidates must complete the first round of online enrollment confirmation on the System.

Accordingly, the deadline for enrollment confirmation for admitted university candidates is 5:00 PM on August 27, 2024.

- Candidates who have confirmed enrollment will not be allowed to register for additional admission option unless permitted by the head of the educational institution not to enroll.

- In case of undecided enrollment, candidates can continue registering for admission option on the System or the national public service portal like other candidates for the educational institution to consider; if admitted, candidates will confirm enrollment according to the common schedule.

When shall the final application filtering for university in 2024 be carried out in Vietnam?

Based on Appendix 7 Organizing Admission, Processing Admission Options on the System, issued together with Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH 2024. The timeline for application filtering is specified as follows:

Accordingly, from August 14 to August 17, 2024, there will be 6 rounds of application filtering.

Thus, after 4:00 PM on August 17, 2024, the final application filtering (sixth round) will conclude.
