Admission and Processing of Applications According to the General Plan
1. Training institutions autonomously organize admissions according to their methods and criteria or voluntarily join groups to conduct admissions according to common methods and criteria. The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) provides guidelines on the schedule of admissions and supports the processing of applications on the system.
2. After the period for application registration on the system ends, the training institution downloads information and data from the system for admission purposes, including application data and high school graduation exam results, high school academic results for candidates applying to the institution using different admission methods.
3. Principles of admission
a) Admission scores are determined to match the number of candidates admitted to each major, training program in line with the announced quotas, but not lower than the entrance threshold;
b) For a training major (or a training program) using a method and subject combination, all candidates are selected equally according to the admission scores regardless of the priority order of the registered application, except for the case specified in point c of this section;
c) In cases where multiple candidates have the same admission scores at the end of the list, the training institution may use the priority order of applications as the secondary criterion (to select those candidates with a higher priority order of applications);
d) The use of regional and subject-based priority points for admission ensures consistency and synchronization with the priority point regulations specified in Article 7 of these Regulations.
4. After each admission round, the training institution uploads the list of candidates expected to qualify for admission to majors, training programs (according to admission methods). The application processing system will automatically remove lower-order applications of candidates qualified for multiple options, returning the list of candidates expected to qualify according to the highest-ranked application.
5. Based on the application processing results, the training institution repeats the admission process in subsequent rounds, adjusting admission scores to fit the quota within the specified timeframe. In the final round, the training institution decides on the admission scores for majors, training programs (according to admission methods) and uploads the official list of candidates who qualify for admission to the system. 6. The training institution announces the admission scores (and additional criteria if any) for majors, training programs according to admission methods; organizing for candidates to check their individual admission results on the institution's information portal (or the admission consortium's portal if applicable).

What are regulations on notification of results and enrollment confirmation of admitted candidates in Vietnam?
According to Article 21 of the Regulations issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the anotification of results and enrollment confirmation to admitted university candidates is as follows:
- The training institution sends an admission notice to admitted candidates, specifying the necessary procedures for them to enroll and methods of enrollment.
- Candidates confirm their enrollment online on the system before enrolling at the training institution.
- For candidates who do not confirm enrollment within the prescribed period:
+ If without a valid reason, it is considered that the candidate declines the admission and the training institution has the right to refuse acceptance;
+ If due to illness or accident with certification from the district, or higher-level hospital, or due to natural disasters with certification from the district or higher-level People's Committee, the training institution considers accepting the candidate or deferring the admission to allow the candidate to enroll later;
+ If due to errors or mistakes by the admission staff or the candidate, the training institution actively cooperates with the individuals and related organizations to review the evidence and decide whether to accept the candidate or defer the admission for the candidate to enroll later.
- Candidates who have confirmed enrollment at one training institution are not allowed to participate in other admissions or supplementary admission rounds unless permitted by the training institution.
