Announcement No. 6150/TB-BLDTBXH dated December 03, 2024 on Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30th) and International Workers’ Day (May 01st) holidays in 2025 of officials, public employees and employees

ANNOUNCEMENT

OF LUNAR NEW YEAR, NATIONAL DAY, REUNIFICATION DAY (APRIL 30^TH) AND INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ DAY (MAY 01^ST) HOLIDAYS IN 2025 OF OFFICIALS, PUBLIC EMPLOYEES AND EMPLOYEES

In order to implement the guidelines given by the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh under the Official Dispatch No. 8726/VPCP-KGVX dated November 26, 2024 of the Office of the Government of Vietnam regarding Lunar New Year and other public holidays in 2025, the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam hereby announces the official schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30^th) and International Workers’ Day (May 01^st) holidays in 2025 to administrative agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises and other employers for implementation. To be specific:

1. Officials, public employees and employees working at administrative agencies, political organizations or socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as “officials and public employees”) are entitled to have the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 from Saturday, January 25, 2025 of solar calendar (i.e. December 26, 2024 of lunar calendar) to the end of Sunday, February 02, 2025 of solar calendar (i.e. January 05, 2024 of lunar calendar). This holiday includes 05 days of the Lunar New Year holiday and 04 weekly days off.

2. Officials and public employees are entitled to have the National Day holiday in 2025 from August 30, 2025 (Saturday) to the end of September 02, 2025 (Tuesday) of solar calendar. This holiday includes 02 days of the National Day holiday and 02 weekly days off.

3. Officials and public employees are entitled to have their working day of May 02, 2025 (Friday) swapped with April 26, 2025 (Saturday). This means they will have 05 consecutive days off from April 30, 2025 (Wednesday) to the end of May 04, 2025 (Sunday) for the Reunification Day (April 30^th) and International Workers' Day (May 01^st) holiday of 2025. April 26, 2025 (Saturday) will be the compensatory working day.

4. Agencies and units that apply this schedule of Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30^th) and International Workers’ Day (May 01^st) holidays in 2025 shall arrange their departments to work in a reasonable manner to continuously process works, serve the best interests of their organizations and the people. Officials shall be assigned to keep watch during the Lunar New Year and other public holidays to handle urgent and unexpected works as prescribed.

5. Agencies, units and local authorities shall have specific and appropriate plans and measures for encouraging units, enterprises, organizations and individuals to actively participate in production, business, economic and social activities in order to maintain stable supply of goods and services, price and market stability, promote production and business, economic growth, thrift practice, wastefulness prevention, and achievement of the planned objectives and goals of 2025, which is the last year to implement the 5-year plan of 2021 – 2025, thereby laying a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the upcoming period.

6. Agencies and units that do not take automatic days-off on Saturday and Sunday every week shall, based on their specific working programs and plans, arrange their own reasonable holiday schedules in accordance with regulations of law.

7. With regard to employees other than those prescribed in Clause 1 of this Announcement, employers may adopt the following holiday schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30^th) and International Workers’ Day (May 01^st) holidays in 2025:

- The Lunar New Year holiday may include 01 ending day of the year 2024 and 04 beginning days of the year 2025 of lunar calendar, or 02 ending days of the year 2024 and 03 beginning days of the year 2025 of lunar calendar, or 03 ending days of the year 2024 and 02 beginning days of the year 2025 of lunar calendar.

- The National Day holiday will include September 02, 2025 (Tuesday) and either September 01, 2025 (Monday) or September 03, 2025 (Wednesday) of solar calendar.

- The holiday schedule for Lunar New Year and National Day in 2025 must be notified to employees at least 30 days before implementation.

- In case a weekly day off coincides with a public holiday prescribed in Clause 1 Article 112 of the Labor Code, employees will have compensatory time-off on the next business day as prescribed in Clause 3 Article 111 of the Labor Code.

- Employers are encouraged to apply the same schedule of Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30^th) and International Workers’ Day (May 01^st) holidays in 2025 to their employees as that applied to officials and public employees.

8. Other public holidays shall be taken in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code.
