Institutions of general education include:
1. Primary schools;
2. Lower secondary schools;
3. Upper secondary schools;
4. Multi-level schools;
Who are eligible subjects to be got directly admision to 10th grade high school in Ho Chi Minh City?
According to Section IV, Part B, the plan to mobilize children to graduate and enroll in the first grades of the school year 2022 - 2023, issued together with Decision 773/QD-UBND in 2022, there are the following provisions:
- Subjects: students graduating from junior high school in Ho Chi Minh City who are:
+ Students with disabilities (with certificates as prescribed).
+ Students meet the following conditions: winning national and international prizes in culture, arts, physical training and sports, National science and technology competition for junior high and high school students. (National prizes are organized or co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; international prizes are nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training or the Department of Education and Training).
- Students who are directly eligible to apply for direct admission with 3 aspirations to enter high schools near their residence in the city that are suitable for their ability and study conditions (except for high schools). specialized high schools, high schools with specialized classes, advanced schools with integration).
For students who win prizes in the National Science and Technology Competition for middle and high school students organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, or students who have won international prizes in various subjects. The corresponding students in the National General Education Program are allowed to apply for direct admission to all high schools (except specialized schools).
Thus, there are 2 subjects that will be got directly admission to grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh city.
What does the application for getting directly admission to grade 10 include?
According to the above regulations, the application for getting directly admission to grade 10 includes: direct admission application and disability certificate issued by the competent authority, valid national and international award certificate issued by the Ministry of Education and Training or Certificate of Merit awarded by the City People's Committee (for international competitions).
Note: Applications for direct admision must be submitted on time.
Can I get a degree when finishing lower secondary school?
Pursuant to Article 34 of the Education Law 2019 on comfirming completion of elementary and high school programs and granting junior high school and high school diploma as follows:
1. Students who complete the primary education programme and meet the requirements set by the Minister of Education and Training will be certified in their official academic records by a primary school principal that they have completed primary education.
2. Students who complete the lower secondary education programme and meet the requirements set by the Minister of Education and Training will be issued with diplomas of lower secondary education by the head of an educational specialized agency under the management of a provincial People’s Committee.
3. Students who complete the upper secondary education programme and meet the requirements set by the Minister of Education and Training will be eligible to take the examination. Those who pass the examination are issued with diplomas of upper secondary education by the head of an educational specialized agency under the management of a provincial People’s Committee.
Students who complete upper secondary education and meet the requirements set by the Minister of Education and Training will be eligible to take the examination. Those who do not take the examination or fail the examination are issued with certificates by the school principal that they have completed general education.
Certificate for completion of general education is used to register for the examination for the upper secondary diploma per learners' wish or per the requirements to continue studying in vocational education and is used in specific cases as prescribed by law.
4. Students with lower secondary diplomas and studying a vocational secondary programme in institutions of vocational education, after completing the programme, are eligible to take the examination certifying the upper secondary education knowledge as prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training. Those who pass the examination are issued with certificates by the head of an educational institution teaching upper secondary cultural knowledge that they have achieved sufficient upper secondary education knowledge.
Certificate for achieving sufficient upper secondary education knowledge is used to continue studying a higher qualification of vocational education and is used in specific cases as prescribed by law.
Thus, when finishing secondary school, you will be awarded a junior high school diploma.
