What is the structure of the 2013 Land Law?
On November 29, 2013, at the 6th Session, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 13th Legislature, passed the 2013 Land Law. On December 9, 2013, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed the Order to promulgate the Law. The Law takes effect from July 1, 2014.
The 2013 Land Law stipulates policies on land ownership, powers, and responsibilities of the State representing the ownership of the entire population over land and unified management of land, policies for managing and using land, rights, and obligations of land users towards the land within the territory of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It includes 14 Chapters and 212 Articles, specifically:
Chapter I. General provisions (comprising 12 Articles, from Article 1 to Article 12);
Chapter II. Powers and responsibilities of the State towards land (comprising 16 Articles, from Article 13 to Article 28);
