Vietnam’s new regulations on registration of using color copiers

On February 28, 2018, the Government of Vietnam approved Decree No. 25/2018/NĐ-CP on amendments toDecree No. 60/2014/NĐ-CP on printing.

According to Decree No. 25/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government:

- Provincial People's Committees have the authority to confirm application for registration/transfer of using color copiers and printers with the color photocopying function (according to current regulations, Departments of Information and Communications have this competence);

- Applications shall be sent to the Provincial People's Committee in many forms such as: through online public service system, by post or delivery service or in person.

Concurrently, Decree No. 25/2018/NĐ-CP no longer mentions 02 strict regulations applied to organizations and individuals applying for registration of using color copiers and printers with the color photocopying function. To be specific:

- Color copiers may only be used to serve internal activities of agencies and organizations and may not be used for commercial purposes in any form;

- Printers with the color photocopying function may only be used for production purposes in printing establishments that fully meet the conditions for printing activities as prescribed.
