Subjects in the Healthcare Sector Required to Receive Training on Infection Control

The Ministry of Health has just issued Circular 16/2018/TT-BYT stipulating regulations on infection control in medical examination and treatment facilities.

The subjects required to be trained in infection control (KSNK) include:

- Leaders of the KSNK department, persons in charge of KSNK at medical examination and treatment facilities with fewer than 150 beds, must receive at least 03 months of training before January 1, 2021;- Persons in charge of KSNK at medical examination and treatment facilities without inpatient beds, must receive at least 05 days of training before January 1, 2021;- Staff in the surveillance department and the disinfection and sterilization department, must receive at least 03 months of training before January 1, 2022;- Members of the KSNK Council and KSNK network, must receive at least 05 days of KSNK training before January 1, 2022;- Officials in charge of KSNK at the Department of Health must receive at least 01 month of training before January 1, 2021.

The head of the medical examination and treatment facility is responsible for developing programs, materials, and conducting training and communication on KSNK for medical staff and related subjects.

Circular 16/2018/TT-BYT is effective from October 1, 2018, replacing Circular 18/2009/TT-BYT.
