Position and function of the Office of the Government of Vietnam from March 1, 2025

The Office of the Government of Vietnam is a ministerial-level agency of the Government of Vietnam, acting as the office serving the Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam (including the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Government of Vietnam).

The Office of the Government of Vietnam functions as a comprehensive advisory, coordinating body to assist the Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam in organizing the general operations of the Government of Vietnam, leading, directing, and managing the activities of the Government of Vietnam and the state administrative system from central to local levels, ensuring the unity, continuity, and seamlessness of the national administration;

To control administrative procedures; ensure information serves the leadership, direction, and management of the Government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam and provide information to the public in accordance with the law; to ensure material, technical, and logistical conditions for the activities of the Government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

Duties and powers of the Office of the Government of Vietnam in comprehensive advisory and coordination to assist the Government of Vietnam

The duties and powers of the Office of the Government of Vietnam in comprehensive advisory and coordination to assist the Government of Vietnam are as follows:

- Preside over the development and management of the Government of Vietnam's work program according to the provisions of the law; monitor, urge ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as ministries and central authorities), the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities (hereinafter referred to as provincial People's Committees), and relevant agencies and organizations to implement the Government of Vietnam's work program and Working Regulations of the Government of Vietnam; aggregate, urge, supervise, evaluate the situation, results of implementation, and report to the Government of Vietnam;

- Coordinate with ministries, central authorities, and the People's Committees of provinces, and relevant agencies and organizations in the preparation and finalization of projects, plans, and draft legal documents for submission to the Government of Vietnam for consideration and decision according to the provisions of the law;

- Take charge of verifying procedures, authority, and responsibilities in handling and comprehensive advisory on the content; provide independent opinions on projects, plans, draft legal documents, and reports as per the Government of Vietnam's work program and other tasks presented to the Government of Vietnam by ministries, central authorities, and the People's Committees of provinces, and relevant agencies and organizations;

- Preside over and cooperate with ministries, central authorities, and the People's Committees of provinces, and relevant agencies and organizations in preparing content, serving the meetings of the Government of Vietnam, conferences of the Government of Vietnam, the Standing Committee of the Government of Vietnam;

- Advise the Government of Vietnam in its working relations with the agencies of the Communist Party, the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the President, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the central agencies of socio-political organizations, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy;

- Preside over the development of projects, plans, draft legal documents, and reports when assigned by the Government of Vietnam.
