Policies to support people when demarcating and marking the Vietnam - Cambodia border

On January 17, 2024, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 01/2024/QD-TTg on policies to support organizations, households, and individuals affected by production and life when demarcating and placing markers on the land border between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia according to the provisions of Resolution 98/2019/QH14.

- Regarding the scope of application

+ Decision 01/2024/QĐ-TTg stipulates the support policy for organizations, households, and individuals affected in production and livelihoods due to the transfer of land areas currently being cultivated within the Vietnamese-controlled area beyond the border line (measured from the border line described in the Boundary Marking Treaty to the actual border line recognized by both parties) during the implementation of boundary demarcation on the ground according to the Supplementary Treaty to the 1985 National Border Delimitation Treaty and the 2005 Supplementary Treaty, and the Boundary Marking Treaty on the mainland border between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia signed on October 5, 2019, and Resolution 98/2019/QH14.

+ This support policy applies to the four provinces with land borders between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia, including Tay Ninh, Long An, An Giang, and Kien Giang.

- Regarding the eligible beneficiaries

+ State agencies exercise the authority and responsibility to represent the collective ownership of land and carry out the unified management of state land.

+ Organizations, households, and individuals affected in production and livelihoods due to the transfer of land areas currently being cultivated within the Vietnamese-controlled area beyond the border line (measured from the border line described in the Boundary Marking Treaty to the actual border line recognized by both parties) during the implementation of boundary demarcation on the ground according to the Supplementary Treaty to the 1985 National Border Delimitation Treaty and the 2005 Supplementary Treaty, and the Boundary Marking Treaty on the mainland border between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia signed on October 5, 2019, and Resolution 98/2019/QH14.
