Passengers in Vietnam must complete electronic health declarations at home before boarding flights

Recently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam issued Directive 3140/CT-CHK on the implementation of measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic in the new situation.

To ensure that transportation activities are safe and minimize the risk of Covid-19 infection, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) requires airport authorities and related agencies and units within the aviation sector to promptly implement the following:

- Strictly implement measures to ensure safety, preventing the spread of the disease to the community during transportation activities;

- Require passengers to comply with the following before boarding an aircraft:

  • Mandatory electronic health declaration at home (paper health declaration is only accepted when unable to complete the electronic declaration), temperature checks, hand sanitization;
  • Limit talking and eating during the trip;
  • Do not spit indiscriminately;
  • Disinfect the surfaces of the vehicle before and immediately after the trip. During the journey, disinfect regularly depending on the actual situation.

- Airlines must strictly comply with quarantine regulations for the crew as guided by the Ministry of Health;

- Require all officials, employees, and passengers to always wear masks properly within the terminal area and on passenger transport vehicles;
