Official: Training mode shall not be recorded on higher education diploma

On December 30, 2019, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular No. 27/2019/TT-BGDĐT on basic contents of higher education diplomas and appendices.

According to Circular No. 27/2019/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, basic contents of diploma include:

- Name of the diploma depending on education level (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctor’s degree, degree of equivalent education level).

- Training major.

- Name of the higher education institution that issues the diploma.

- Last name, middle name, and first name of the person to whom the diploma is issued.

- Date of birth of the person to whom the diploma is issued.

- Graduation grade (if any).

- Location and time of issuing the diploma.

- Academic title, signature, last name, middle name, and first name of the person entitled to issue the diploma and append seal as per the law;

- Diploma number and entry number in diploma log.

Thus, from March 01, 2020, training modes such as regular, work-study, distance learning or guided self-study shall not be recorded on higher education diplomas as currently recorded, instead, information on the diploma such as training duration, training mode, etc. shall be recorded in the diploma appendix.
