The Ministry of Transport has just issued Circular 31/2019/TT-BGTVT regulating the speed and safe distances for motor vehicles and specialized motorcycles participating in road traffic.
In densely populated areas with two-way streets and one-way streets with a single motor vehicle lane, the maximum speed for motor vehicles (excluding specialized motorcycles, mopeds (including electric motorcycles), and similar vehicles) when participating in traffic is 50 km/h.
For areas outside densely populated regions, the maximum speed is regulated as follows:
- Cars, passenger cars with up to 30 seats (excluding buses); cars not exceeding 3.5 tons: 80 km/h;- Cars, passenger cars with over 30 seats (excluding buses); cars exceeding 3.5 tons: 70 km/h;- Buses, tractor trucks; motorbikes, specialized motor vehicles (excluding mortar trucks, concrete mixer trucks): 60 km/h;- Cars towing trailers; cars towing other vehicles; concrete mixer trucks, tank trucks: 50 km/h.
