The Vietnam Minister of Education and Training has issued the Regulation for the National Scientific and Technical Research Competition for lower and upper secondary school students with the following competition content and format:

(1) Content of the Competition

- The content of the Competition is the result of students' scientific and technical research projects (hereinafter referred to as the project sent to attend the competition) belonging to the areas of the Competition regulated in Appendix 1 attached to the Regulation for the National Scientific and Technical Research Competition for lower and upper secondary school students.

The project sent to attend the competition can be conducted by 01 (one) student (hereinafter referred to as an individual project) or by 02 (two) students from the same education and training institution (hereinafter referred to as a group project);

- The report on the results of the project sent to attend the competition includes the following basic contents: research question (for scientific projects) or research problem (for technical projects); research design and methodology; data collection, analysis, and interpretation (for scientific projects) or manufacturing and testing (for technical projects).

(2) Format of the Competition

- Each project sent to attend the competition submits a report on the project results as per the regulations and displays an explanatory board about the project results (hereinafter referred to as a poster) at the competition venue;

- The author or group of authors summarize the project results and answer questions from the judges at the poster exhibition area.

Detailed content may be found in Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDDT effective from May 27, 2024. Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDDT replaces Circular 38/2012/TT-BGDDT and Circular 32/2017/TT-BGDDT.
