The Ministry of Finance has recently issued Official Dispatch 2850/BTC-QLCS providing guidance on the procurement of public cars from the state budget for the year 2018 as follows:

- For automobiles serving the operations of agencies, organizations, units, and Project Management Boards:

From January 1, 2018: No procurement of automobiles according to the standards and norms prescribed in the following Decisions: 32/2015/QD-TTg, 54/2007/QD-TTg, 40/2014/QD-TTg, 161/2008/QD-TTg until new Decrees on standards and norms for the use of automobiles and public assets are issued.

- For automobiles serving the operations of Vietnamese agencies abroad:

Request the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant Ministries, central agencies, and Provincial People's Committees to direct agencies and units to review and arrange the existing automobiles in accordance with Decree 166/2017/ND-CP.

- While awaiting the Government of Vietnam to issue new Decrees on standards and norms for the use of automobiles, do not use ODA loans, preferential loans, or commercial loans to procure automobiles.
