To promptly settle the costs for health insurance (HI) medical examinations and treatments in 2017, Vietnam Social Security issued Official Dispatch 1094/BHXH-CSYT dated March 30, 2018, providing guidelines on calculating the multi-line ceiling as follows:

- Basis for calculating the multi-line ceiling until 2017 is the average cost of 2016, adjusted according to the new medical service prices stipulated in Joint Circular 37/2015/TTLT-BYT-BTC;- The multi-line ceiling does not include transportation costs; blood and blood product costs; costs outside the scope of military health insurance, police, and cryptographic personnel which are reimbursed according to actual costs;- The subjects eligible for the multi-line ceiling include: Patients with health insurance cards registered at different medical facilities or initially registered for medical examination and treatment there, but the insurance cards are issued by another provincial Social Insurance office.
