Vietnam Social Security has just issued Official Dispatch 1142/BHXH-CSYT regarding the adjustment of levels and categories for private medical examination and treatment establishments in accordance with Decision 6062/QD-BYT.
The action of the Departments of Health in issuing decisions to classify technical expertise and rank private healthcare establishments based on Decision 6062/QD-BYT is incorrect.
According to Vietnam Social Security, the classification is under the guidance of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management. However, there is currently no guiding document on this matter.
Particularly, the action of provincial Departments of Health in classifying clinics as equivalent to rank III is non-compliant. As a result, these healthcare establishments propose the Social Insurance agency to pay healthcare costs based on the service rates according to the new rank approved by the Department of Health.
Finally, Vietnam Social Security requests that provincial Social Insurance agencies adjust the classification and rank of private healthcare establishments in the area. Clinics should still apply the price rates of rank IV hospitals according to Clause 5, Article 4 of Joint Circular 37/2015/TTLT-BYT-BTC.
Official Dispatch 1142/BHXH-CSYT issued on April 04, 2018.
