Exemption from Quality Inspection for Imported Goods in relation to Radar
Le Trang

Recently, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Resolution 99/NQ-CP concerning the regular monthly meeting of the Government of Vietnam in October 2019.

Notably, Resolution 99 has introduced remediation measures for items still subject to numerous specialized inspections by various agencies, streamlining administrative procedures to avoid wasting time and money. Some specific solutions include:

- Radar: Exempt imported radar from quality inspections. The Customs authority will manage the inspection and clearance of goods until Decree 74/2018/ND-CP is amended.- Cooling systems: Assign the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to study and amend relevant documents to shift specialized inspections of cooling systems from pre-clearance to post-clearance.- Beverage production materials: Assign the Ministry of Industry and Trade to review and reduce the products and goods under its management that require both food safety and quarantine inspections.- Powder and starch derived from plants: Assign the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to conduct specialized inspections upon the import of powder and starch. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will remove these items from the list of goods requiring specialized inspections under its purview.

For details, refer to Resolution 99/ND-CP, issued on November 13, 2019.
