Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam has issued the Decision No. 3367/QĐ-BVHTTDL in 2020 on the Plan on emplementing Resolution No. 26/NQ-CP on master plan and 5-year plan for implementation of Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW on the strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam’s sea-based economy by 2030, vision to 2045.
According to the Decision No. 3367/QĐ-BVHTTDL, in order to concretize the viewpoints, purposes and requirements of Resolution No. 26/NQ-CP, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam sets out the main tasks of tourism in the 2021-2015 period as follows:
- Organize activities to promote sea tourism, develop marine tourism products associated with promoting the value of natural resources, unique culture and history of coastal areas and islands;
- Propose preferential policies for investment and development of high-quality beach resorts in a number of key areas, policies to encourage the development of marine and island eco-tourism products and tourist routes to mid- and offshore islands;
- Develop favorable mechanisms and policies for coastal people to change jobs, directly participate in business and benefit from tourism activities;
- Coordinate with the People's Committees of the provinces and central-affiliated cities with the sea to organize festivals honoring marine culture and marine cuisine, creating attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.
