Biweekly, the Maritime Administration shall submit fees to the State Treasury

On February 28, 2017, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 17/2017/TT-BTC guiding the collection, payment, management, and use of maritime fees and charges.

The collection, management, and use of maritime fees and charges are stipulated as follows:

- The collection of maritime port fees and entry and exit fees for seaports is implemented according to Circular 261/2016/TT-BTC;- Biweekly, no later than the Monday of the third week, the Maritime Port Authorities shall deposit the collected fees into the fee account pending submission to the state budget at the State Treasury;- The Maritime Port Authorities:- Are responsible for submitting 100% of the collected seaport charges to the central budget.- Are entitled to retain 57% of the collected fees to cover specific expenses of the Vietnam Maritime Administration and;

Submit 43% of the collected fees to the central budget according to the state budget index.

Circular 17/2017/TT-BTC takes effect from April 18, 2017, and applies from the fiscal year 2017.
