Due to the complex developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly the occurrence of community-transmitted cases, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam requires:

- Retail pharmacies, when advising customers showing signs of cold, cough, fever, must record the patient's full name, address, and phone number, recommend the installation of health declaration applications, and notify local preventive health authorities for monitoring and managing cases.

- Organize strict implementation of the Ministry of Health's guidelines on screening, categorizing, directing, and thoroughly controlling patients who come for medical examination and treatment.

- Provincial and municipal Centers for Disease Control/Preventive Health Centers must inform local retail pharmacies about the 24/7 hotline number to receive information from these pharmacies regarding such cases; operationalize and guide the use of health declaration applications to receive information related to suspected cases for appropriate isolation measures.

- Hospitals from district level upwards to strengthen screening measures, order SARS-CoV-2 virus testing for patients showing symptoms of cold, flu, cough, fever to early detect COVID-19 cases, promptly organize isolation, and containment to minimize transmission.

- Private clinics to enhance screening of patients showing signs of cold, cough, fever, arrange a separate examination area, direct patient flow separately, and maintain registers recording the full name, address, and phone number of patients for monitoring and case management.
