Here is the directive content from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Official Dispatch 2198/BVHTTDL-VP regarding the update and supplementation of the list of widely popular songs on the Performing Arts Department's electronic information portal.
Recently, the Department of Performing Arts conducted a review, update, and addition to the list of songs that have been widely popularized on the electronic information page. However, this activity has affected public opinion as most people misunderstood it as the licensing of revolutionary songs.
Following the directive of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism requires the Department of Performing Arts to strictly implement the following:
- It is not necessary to license the popularization of the songs that have already become familiar and widely popular in reality, provided that their lyrics do not contradict traditional customs and values or infringe upon national interests;- Draw lessons and rectify the organization, enhance the capacity of law enforcement officers;- Review the system of legal documents related to the field of performing arts, propose amendments and supplements in accordance with the actual situation and development requirements.
