Hot: Interprovincial passenger cars and taxis in Ho Chi Minh City are allowed to resume operation

Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Notice 4825/TB-SGTVT on the plan for organizing transportation activities in Ho Chi Minh City from April 23, 2020.

In compliance with the directive of the City People's Committee at Official Dispatch 1491/UBND-VX dated April 23, 2020, regarding the plan for organizing transportation activities to ensure safety in the prevention and control of Covid-19 from April 23, 2020, the Department of Transport announces the plan for organizing transportation activities in Ho Chi Minh City to be implemented from April 23, 2020, as follows:

Firstly, for road passenger transport activities:

- Passenger transport activities by taxis and contract cars (under 9 seats utilizing technology): Normal operation.

- Passenger transport activities by buses:

+ For subsidized urban passenger transport by bus: The Department of Transport will announce the routes resuming operations after May 3, 2020.

+ For non-subsidized and interprovincial bus routes: Resuming operations according to the route exploitation plan announced by the Public Transport Management Center, based on the agreed bus schedules with relevant provincial Departments of Transport.

- For interprovincial passenger transport activities:

+ For fixed routes: Operate up to 30% of the schedule for provinces in the high-risk group and up to 50% of the schedule for provinces in the low-risk group (at a minimum of no less than one trip/route).

+ For contract cars (except for cars under 9 seats utilizing technology) and tourist cars: Operate up to 30% of the total number of vehicles owned by the transport business units if connected to provinces, cities in the high-risk group, and up to 50% of the total number of vehicles if connected to provinces, cities in the low-risk group.

Secondly, for waterway passenger transport activities:

- For Cat Lai ferry operations: Normal operation, except for vehicles with a total load over 08 tons.

- For Binh Khanh ferry operations: Normal operation.

- Water bus route No. 01: Suspend operations until May 3, 2020.

- For interprovincial routes: Maximum 01 trip/route/day (according to Official Dispatch 3864/BGTVT-VT dated April 22, 2020, of the Ministry of Transport).

- Intraregional and cross-river passenger transport routes: Normal operation.

Note: All transport business units, vehicles, and traffic participants must ensure safety conditions according to the criteria set by the City for evaluating the level of safety in transport activities for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, strictly comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Transport at Official Dispatch 3863/BGTVT-CYT dated April 22, 2020.
