On November 16, 2018, the Ministry of Health issued Circular 34/2018/TT-BYT specifying the procedures to be followed after vaccination.
Circular 34 stipulates that after vaccination, it is necessary to:
- Monitor vaccinated individuals for at least 30 minutes at the vaccination site.- Provide specific guidance to the family or the vaccinated individuals on the following issues:- Continue to monitor at home for at least 24 hours after vaccination for signs including general condition, mental status, eating, sleeping, breathing, rash, injection site symptoms, and immediately inform healthcare staff if any abnormal signs occur;- Immediately take the vaccinated individual to the hospital or healthcare facilities if, after vaccination, they exhibit any of the following signs: high fever (≥39°C), convulsions, prolonged crying in children, irritability, lethargy, poor feeding, refusal to feed, difficulty breathing, cyanosis, rash, and other abnormal manifestations, or if common reactions last more than 24 hours after vaccination.- Fully record the following information:- Enter complete information into the vaccination card or vaccination booklet of the vaccinated individual and in the National Immunization Information Management System and schedule the next vaccination;- Record the vaccination date for each type of vaccine administered to the vaccinated individual and note any post-vaccination reactions in the National Immunization Information Management System.
