What is the Content-Based Quality Inspection of Goods?

Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BKHCN was promulgated by the Ministry of Science and Technology to amend and supplement Circular No. 26/2012/TT-BKHCN regulating the state inspection of the quality of goods circulating in the market.

According to the new regulations, quality inspection of goods includes the inspection of labeling and product quality. To be specific:

Regarding product labels:

- Inspect product labels according to the laws on labeling;- Inspect the expression of applied standards, conformity marks, compliance marks, codes, and barcodes.

Regarding quality:

- Inspect storage conditions of goods in accordance with the relevant standards, technical regulations, or as stated on the product label;- Inspect the conformity of goods with technical regulations, declared standards, and accompanying documents;

Note: In cases where sampling of goods is required, the inspection team shall take samples according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 6 of Circular 12.
