What are regulations on Intermediate Program in Technical Salt Production in Vietnam?

Circular 17/2013/TT-BGDDT stipulates that the national framework curriculum for the intermediate vocational training program in Industrial Engineering Technology for Salt Production in Vietnam is designed to train technicians in the field at an intermediate vocational level, inculcate professional ethics, work conscience, cooperative attitude with colleagues, respect for the law and workplace regulations, and ensure good health to enable workers to find employment. It also aims to equip them with the potential for further studies and to meet the socio-economic development requirements.

The program includes basic knowledge and skills in designing and constructing salt fields; techniques for producing common salt from seawater and high-quality salt; organizing sea salt production; and additional technical support skills such as Electrical Engineering, Meteorology – Hydrology, Chemical Engineering Processes and Equipment, and Irrigation for Salt Fields. Students are also provided with fundamental knowledge and skills in information technology, foreign languages, physical education, politics, law, and national defense-security.

Upon graduation, students become technicians in Industrial Engineering Technology for Salt Production at an intermediate vocational level in Vietnam, capable of designing and constructing small and simple salt fields; directly operating primary machinery and equipment in the salt production line; checking the quality of raw materials and salt products; and organizing and instructing workers and farmers in basic techniques for producing and processing salt from seawater. Graduates can work in enterprises, units, state, and private organizations, as well as other facilities involved in the management, production, and business of sea salt and salt-derived products. They also have the potential to pursue further studies at collegial and university levels.

More details can be found in Circular 17/2013/TT-BGDDT, which comes into effect in Vietnam from June 24, 2013.
