Vietnam: Who have the authority to recognize clinical research and testing?

This is an important content specified in Circular No. 55/2015/TT-BYT regulating the recognition of clinical research and testing of new techniques and new methods in medical examination and treatment, which was issued on December 29, 2015 by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.

According to Circular No. 55/2015/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, the authority to recognize clinical research and testing of new techniques and new methods in medical examination and treatment is prescribed as follows:

- The Minister of Health shall approve the proposal for clinical research and testing of new techniques and new methods in medical examination and treatment.

- Based on the approved research proposal, the research results, and the recommendation report for approval from the Ethics Evaluation Board, the Director of the Department of Science, Technology, and Training - Ministry of Health shall decide to recognize the clinical research and testing of new techniques and new methods in medical examination and treatment.
