Vietnam: Standards for raceways for rowing boats, canoes, and traditional boats (illustrative image)

Circular 22/2014/TT-BVHTTDL stipulates the standards for raceways for rowing boats, canoes, and traditional boats in Vietnam as follows:

1. Standards for rowing raceways in Vietnam

- The length of the rowing raceway is 2,150m straight in one direction, and its width should not be less than 108m.

- The minimum depth of the competition area should not be less than 3.0m.

- The structure and installation of equipment on the raceway should be in accordance with specific regulations of the International Rowing Federation (FISA).

2. Standards for raceways for canoes and traditional boats in Vietnam

- Raceways with competition distances of 1000m, 500m, and 200m:

+ The length of the raceway is 1,200m straight in one direction, and its width should not be less than 81m.

+ The depth of the competition area should not be less than 2.0m.

+ The structure and installation of equipment on the raceway should be in accordance with specific regulations of the International Canoe Federation (ICF).

- Raceways for competition distances greater than 1000m:

+ The length, depth of the competition area, structure and installation of equipment on the raceway should be implemented as specified in Clause 1 of this Article.

+ Turning points must be arranged: the radius of each turning point should not be less than 31.5m, and the width of the turning area should not be less than 63m; each turning point should be marked with 06 signal flags according to the regulations of the International Canoe Federation (ICF).

+ The starting line is also the finish line.

- For public sports competitions: the number of lanes and the length of the raceway should comply with the competition's charter.
