On November 16, 2018, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 156/2018/NĐ-CP, which specifies scientific research, training and practice in reserve forests.
According to Decree No. 156/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, scientific research, training and practice in reserve forests are prescribed as follows:
In case the scientific research, training or practice is organized by the forest owner, the aforesaid activities shall be carried out according to the approved plan or project.
Scientific research organizations, training institutions, scientists or students doing scientific research, training or practice must:
- Have a plan for scientific research, teaching and practice in a special-use forest approved by a competent authority;
- Strictly comply with the provisions of law, management regulations and guidance of the Management Board of special-use forests;
- Report on the Special-use Forest Management Board: scientific research, teaching and practice activities conducted in the special-use forest and scientific research results;
- Only collect specimens and genetic resources of species with quantities determined in approved scientific research programs, projects and topics. The transportation, storage and publication of specimens and genetic resources shall comply with the State's regulations and the guidance and supervision of the Special-use Forest Management Board.
