Vietnam: Responsibilities of Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development in the management of the national animal husbandry database

According to Circular No. 20/2019/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, in the process of updating, using and managing the national animal husbandry database, Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of provinces and centrally-affiliated cities must have the following responsibilities:

- Direct development, update, use and management of the national animal husbandry database and provide training in such tasks for relevant bodies and individuals in their provinces.

- Cooperate with the Department of Livestock Production in update, use and management of the national animal husbandry database according to its powers and assigned tasks.

- Inspect implementation of regulations on update, use and management of the national crop production database and provision of information thereof prescribed in this Circular of relevant bodies and individuals within their provinces.

- Invest in and develop infrastructure of service to the development, update, use and management of the national animal husbandry database within their provinces.

- Organize update of the data mentioned in Points a, b, c, d and dd Clause 1; Point a Clause 2; Points a, d and e Clause 3; and Point a Clause 4 of Article 4; Points a, b and c Clause 1 Article 5; and Clause 3 Article 7 of this Circular; and take responsibility for the timeliness, accuracy and adequacy of information updated to the national animal husbandry database.

In addition to the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, other entities such as the Department of Animal Husbandry, affiliates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, relevant bodies and individuals must also have responsibilities in the management of the national animal husbandry database.
