Vietnam: Postal activities must guarantee letter secrecy

Postal activities include activities of investing and commercially dealing in, and providing and using postal services, public postal services and postage stamps.

According to Article 4 of the Law on Post 2010 of Vietnam, principles of postal activities include:

One, assuring security, safety, timeliness, accuracy and convenience in the provision and use of postal services.

Two, guaranteeing letter secrecy under law.

Three, providing postal services under the state-managed market mechanism.

Four, assuring the constant and stable provision of public postal services for the society.

Five, respecting and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals involved in postal activities.

The Law on Post 2010 of Vietnam was promulgated on June 17, 2010 and officially effective from January 01, 2011.
