Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued Decree 173/2013/ND-CP stipulating penalties for administrative violations against the regulations on the meteorology and hydrology, surveying, and cartography.
Vietnam: How much is the fine for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works? (Illustration)
Decree 173/2013/ND-CP stipulates the fines for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works in Vietnam as follows:
- A fine ranging from 5,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works in Vietnam valued below 50,000,000 VND;
- A fine ranging from 10,000,000 VND to 20,000,000 VND for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works in Vietnam valued between 50,000,000 VND and below 100,000,000 VND;
- A fine ranging from 20,000,000 VND to 30,000,000 VND for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works in Vietnam valued between 100,000,000 VND and below 300,000,000 VND;
- A fine ranging from 30,000,000 VND to 40,000,000 VND for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works in Vietnam valued between 300,000,000 VND and 500,000,000 VND;
- A fine ranging from 40,000,000 VND to 50,000,000 VND for damaging meteorological and hydrological equipment and works in Vietnam valued above 500,000,000 VND.
Additionally, a fine ranging from 6,000,000 VND to 8,000,000 VND shall be imposed for any of the following acts:
- Illegally constructing works that violate the technical safety corridor of meteorological and hydrological works;
- Making impacts causing damage to meteorological and hydrological equipment and works;
- Mooring waterborne transport means to hydrological and oceanographic observation works.
